Sherwood Park

Jamie Pl, San Ramon, CA 94582, USA

Parks are a tangible reflection of a community’s quality of life.  We provide people with belonging and are a key factor in the understanding of quality of life in a particular community.  In surveys on how living communities are, parks and recreation services often are cited as one of the most important factors. Exposure to parks and leisure facilities have been strongly linked to reduced crime and youth crime.

Parks have a value that exceeds dollars invested or the income gained from fees for communities.  Parks provide every community with a sense of public pride and cohesion. Parks provide for families, social groups and individuals of all ages and economic status, whatever their ability to pay for access. While Sherwood Park is one of the smallest in the San Ramon Park system, what Sherwood Park lacks is its appeal and charm.

Most of the 1,5 acres of the park are covered by two large, brightly colored structures. Every playground is fitted with a tannery base and several fun features including rock-climbing walls, twisty slides, buckets and daily swings. There is a pretty white gazebo between the two play areas, shades a picnic table and several wooden lounge benches. This is a nice respite for parents from the sun-springed playground.

The outskirts of the Sherwood Park are lined with other picnic tables and accompanying barbeques, most of which are cool and conveniently placed under trees. Sitting at the table can pleasantly surprise you, as some tabletops are designed to play chess or checkers outdoors. This always enjoyable neighborhood park is completed by a wide, well-kept grassy space, ideal for a Frisbee or a relaxing picnic. An important note: children probably should use the toilet before Sherwood trips because there are no bathrooms in the park.

It’s a lovely peaceful park with a big grass! There is a beautiful gazebo and two swinging playgrounds. It is next to the bigger but more crowded Live Oak Sports Park.
