Dakota Park, located at 480 Ridgewood Drive, is a 4.7-acre park with a 0.5-mile walking trail linking the trail system from Sunset Road south to and beyond Mallard Park.  This has two dog park sections, one for small dogs and one for larger dogs. Benches enjoy watching their dogs play with their owners under shade structures. There is a patio field outside the dog park area with plenty of picnic tables and barbecues. Great location for taking dogs. This is one of the area’s simple dog parks. It has a double gated entrance with a doggie bag stand and water fountain in both the large and small digs areas. An extra stainless-dog bowls used to be around and balls used to play but somebody removed them. A great dog park with a friendly community of visitors all around. There’s a Dakota Park Friends FB page where you can plan to meet your fellow dog owners. A lot of people like this dog park and you can jog down to Heron Park with your dog as well!
